Close Window

On January 22, 2007, the Board of Directors of the YWCA of Glendale passed a resolution to establish an Endowment Fund.  The Endowment Fund is to provide long-term funding for the YWCA to carry out its goals of empowering women and eliminating racism, and may be spent for

            (1) Programs to achieve racial and ethnic justice,

            (2) Programs to achieve economic empowerment of women,

            (3) Programs to stop violence against women and children,

            (4) Programs for women’s health and safety, and

            (5) Programs for girls to develop into independent, healthy, self-sufficient women,

            (6) Maintenance and improvement of sites used by the YWCA.

In order to build the endowment fund, unless a donor specifies otherwise, no funds will be spent from the fund until it reaches a balance of $500,000.  The Board has adopted a Plan of Operation for the Endowment Fund, including policies for acceptance of gifts, and is in the process of developing Investment Guidelines.  Gifts may be made to “The YWCA of Glendale Endowment Fund.”
