Some of the biggest survivors of domestic violence are the smallest.
Children who experience domestic violence face threats to their emotional, psychological and physical wellbeing. At YWCA Glendale, we aim to minimize those effects and create an environment where children can feel safe, supported and inspired.
Our Children’s Program uses a trauma-informed approach to address the impact of trauma through daily enrichment activities. Children are encouraged to express themselves through art, structured play and team-building and self-esteem exercises.
For clients in our Domestic Violence Program, we offer monthly hour-long “Parent and Me” classes designed to strengthen the parent-child relationship and bimonthly events with giveaways, activities and more.
