YWCA Advocacy Priority at the National Level:

Currently we are fighting the immoral cuts to programs for women and children
planned by Congress while they plan to decrease taxes on the wealthiest in our nation.

YWCA of Glendale - Advocacy Information

Our shelter and Women’s Service Center programs advocate for our clients by providing court accompaniment, direct assistance with Calworks, DPSS and other resources.

Our legal department supports women and children through representation in the court system dealing with immigration issues, custody issues, divorce and visitation.

Our Children’s Program is also an advocate for children’s in schools, county agencies and family counseling where parenting as well as proper communication between parent and children is taught. Through advocacy we help empower children to feel better about themselves and know that they are not alone in finding healing from abuse.
