YWCA Glendale’s 23rd Legacy Luncheon to feature Keynote Speaker Chris Carson and Master of Ceremonies Amber Lee in Signature Event Honoring Local Women Leaders

GLENDALE, CA — YWCA Glendale, a leading nonprofit providing safe shelter, supportive services
and empowerment programming for women and children is delighted to announce its 23rd Annual
Legacy Luncheon will take place on June 11, 2020 at the beautiful La Cañada Flintridge Country Club.
This event will be emceed by CBS2/KCAL9’s Amber Lee, will feature a keynote from Chris Carson,
National President of the League of Women Voters and will bring together 300 distinguished guests,
government officials, industry leaders, and current and past event honorees, who exemplify
excellence and amplify the YWCA’s mission of eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting
peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.

This year’s event will pay homage to the 100th anniversary of women’s right to vote by recognizing
women from Glendale, Burbank and Pasadena who have made significant gains to advance the rights
of women and girls:

  • Ani Torosyan, CEO, Dish Divvy – Technology Award
  • Hasmik Burushyan, Community Outreach Coordinator, Glendale Armenian American Grassroots Advocacy (ANCA) – Young Woman Award
  • Monica Campagna, Glendale Environmental Coalition – Environment Award
  • Phyllis Kim, Executive Director, Comfort Women Action for Redress and Education (CARE) –
    Racial Justice Award
  • Suzanne Weerts, Burbank Arts Commissioner – Arts & Culture Award
  • Tamika Farr, Executive Director, El Centro de Amistad – Business & Industry Award
  • Teresa Rivera, Mental Health Supervisor, LA County Department of Mental Health – Community
    Impact Award
  • Randy and Suzonne Slaughter – Special Recognition

The event will feature fine dining, a silent auction, and memorable entertainment by The Brothers
Landau to support the YWCA Glendale in raising both awareness and the transformative funds needed
to provide quality programming to support women and girls to build healthy relationships, achieve
