YWCA Glendale and Pasadena is honored to recognize Ani Eulmessekian with the 2021 Cami’s Courage Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship was created in honor of Cami Burton, the daughter of our dear friend and former YWCA Glendale Board Member, Carol Ann Burton. A scholarship of $1,000 is presented each year to an exceptional female high school senior who makes significant contributions to their community.
Ani is a graduating senior at Herbert Hoover High School, completing advanced placement and honors classes with a weighted GPA of 4.5 and an impressive PSAT score of 1400. Ani is considering a Psychology/Neuroscience major with the ultimate goal of attending medical school. Ani has served as President of the Armenian Club for the past three years, is the project leader for Girls Who Code, and has served as the Historian for Ascencia’s Service Awareness Program for the past 3 years. Ani is a dedicated community volunteer who has inspired others through her leadership and direct service work with includes: packaging and sending medical supplies to doctors in developing countries with the Mending Kids Facility, organizing educational plays through the Hamazkayin Armenian and Cultural Society, raising awareness about the war in Artsakh by writing articles and attending protests, and raising funds for the Armenian Fund through her own jewelry website. She has received the Community Service Award each year since entering high school and received a Junior Volunteer of the Year Award from the Ascencia Service Awareness Program.
