For 19 years, the YWCA’s Women for Racial Justice Breakfast has been a space and experience that has brought people in the Pasadena community (and beyond) together for deep learning and an invitation to action to advance racial justice. Continuing the rich tradition and legacy of the YWCA Pasadena, this year’s virtual event was shaped around the theme of Truth, Healing, and Transformation, presented by sponsor Avery Dennison, emceed by Emmy Award Winning News Anchor, KTLA’s Cher Calvin and featured a keynote speech by world renowned poet Nikki Giovanni.
The 19th Annual Women for Racial Justice Breakfast took place on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, 9AM - 10AM. This annual event affords us an opportunity to recognize the commitment and dedication of our supporters, program participants, and community, business and government partners who are advancing our mission of eliminating racism and empowering women. We were proud to recognize the 2021 YWCA Women for Racial Justice honorees who have made significant advances in eliminating racism and empowering women:
